Another Popular Cybercrime Website Taken Down

Hello, 🌎 ! Several days ago, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the seizure of the servers and databases hosting the popular website called RaidForums. Visiting the website at the moment, presents you with the OG law enforcement banner commonly used for domain-seized government websites.

RaidForums was originally frequented by those who wanted to “raid” other online communities or who wanted to perform “swatting”, which involves making false reports to law enforcement about an individual, that would normally require aggressive responses — which some times may even lead to death. RaidForums eventually became a popular place on the Internet where one can also get access to billions of customer records from previous data breaches or sell and purchase contraband. Because of this, the website has been taken down and the websites administrator, a 21 year-old from Portugal, has been indicted by the U.S. government. This effort was part of “Operation Tourniquet” which included a number of law enforcement agencies across the world.
